Lafour Theatre School News for 2010

It has come to the end of the Summer Term, but dont worry there is still Summer Club!

What a term it hase been, gritty performances of Les Miserables, tear jerking solos, entertaining dancing chimney sweeps and cute mini insects! Congratulations to all the students who performed in the Variety Show in July, it was a roaring success! Lafour Students also put on a great show at the Wokingham Mayfair and the Sandhurst Festival this term!

Looking forward to another exciting term in the Autumn at Theatre School as we put on another Stonking Pantomime!

Lafour Street Dance Academy and Lafour Tap Dance Academy set to continue!

After a sucessful first term the Lafour Dance Academies are set to continue in the Autumn!

Lafour Tap Dance Academy

Learn a new skill and dance like Gene Kelly!No syllabus work, just fun, stylish tapping!

Tuesdays - 6.30 till 7.15pm

Perform a Tap routine in the Lafour Annual Variety Show!

Lafour Street Dance Academy

Learn fun and funky moves, to chart music!

Tuesdays - Infant - 4.15 till 5

Junior - 5 till 5.45

Intermediate - 5.45 till 6.30

Autumn Term classes re-commence 14th September 2010

Location: St Sebastians Hall, Honey Hill, Nine Mile Ride, Wokingham, Berkshire, RG40 3BA

Fees for 45 min Dance Class: £42 per 12 week term. (£3.50 per class) 5 % Discount for siblings or for students attending more than one class.

Private Singing Lessons

Students wishing to improve their singing technique can have private singing lessons. This will help imrove their breathing, confidence and performance.
The price for private singing lessons per half hour is £12.50

LTC Repertoire will be based on:

• Creating new plays from Improvisation

• Street Theatre Musicals

• Strong singing voice
• Knowledge of dance
• Imagination
• Creative thinking
• Enthusiasm
• Commitment
• Energy
• Passion to perform
• Mature attitude

Centre Stage students aged 16 + yrs can apply for selection. Outside students will need to audition.

LTC Audition:

• 2 x contrasting drama pieces of 1 � 2 mins each
• The verse and chorus of a song - unaccompanied
• Interview
• Sight reading assessment
• Improvisation
