LTS 1st Stage: Ages 7yrs - 16 yrs.

No audition is necessary

Structure

A natural stepping stone from Mini Theatre School at 7yrs. Pleasure in acting, dancing or singing is often demonstrated initially in the home or at school. No formal training is required to join 1st Stage, just interest and enthusiasm in performing.

What we do

Autumn Term

Drama: Confidence and creativity building. Comedy Plays and improvisations
Dance: Modern Styles, Jazz and Disco.
Singing: Songs for Pantomime
Students are given the opportunity to perform song and dance numbers with Centre Stage in the Lafour Christmas Pantomime

Spring Term

Drama: Classical or Contemporary to include titles from
e.g. Shakespeare, Greek mythology, Poetry
Dance: Traditional e.g. Folk, Ballroom, Jive, Latin, Jazz
Singing: Classical or traditional same era as dance or drama piece

Showcase in conjunction with Arts Awards: An opportunity for students to prepare and rehearse a performance piece of their own choice either solo, with a partner or as a small group. Reports and certificates are awarded to every performer. Showcase winners with the highest marks will be invited to perform at the Annual Variety show.

Summer Term

Musical Theatre e.g. The Sound of music, Annie, Oliver, Fame, Lion King
Annual Variety Show & Awards. Matinee & evening performances featuring students from Mini Theatre School, 1st Stage & Centre Stage.
